Commercial Contractor Waste, Dead Animals, and Tires of all sizes are taken at the Scott County Transfer Station. The Transfer Station is also open to the public and can receive household solid waste, brush, solid waste produced in agricultural activities, metal & white goods, block and bricks, and provides a much easier unloading facility for large loads and heavy items such as furniture, appliances, etc.

No Hazardous Material or Free Liquids Including: pesticides, paints, fuels, or chemicals. Those items may be disposed of at the Hazardous Waste Pickup Event, held annually in Sept.

Fees:

Scott County citizens and landowners disposing of solid waste generated on their property within Scott County may dump at no charge (except for tires).      Why the Fee? Collected used tires are taken to the Wise County Landfill for recycling at a cost of $40/ton.

  $40.00 / Ton

Tire Fee: 

$1 per Light Truck and Passenger

$5 per tire for 20” to 24.5” rim size

$10 per tire for tires with rim size over 24.5” (must be cut in quarters.)
