Solid Waste Management

Scott County Public Work’s Solid Waste Management Division operates the Scott County Transfer Station (State Permit PBR 548) and provides dumpster and bin pickup services at 14 Solid Waste Convenience Centers, 12 Schools, and 8 public facilities. The solid waste collected at these sites is transported to the Scott County Transfer Station where is it loaded into semi-trailers and contractor-hauled to the EcoSafe Landfill located in Blountville, TN.  

 Scott County produces approximately 28 million lbs. of municipal solid waste each year with an operational and disposal cost of $1.6 million.
