Early Voting in Virginia

 

Scott County voters have the opportunity for voting ahead of the March 5th, 2024 Dual Presidential Primary Elections.  

 

Early Voting in Person

 

Any qualified registered Scott County voter can vote early in the General Registrar’s Office.  Early Voting begins on Friday, January 19th, and will end on Saturday, March 2nd.  The Scott County General Registrar’s Office will be open Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to accommodate any voters who wish to vote early.   Additionally, the General Registrar’s office will be open on Saturday, February 24th, and Saturday, March 2nd from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for Early Voting.  

 

Saturday, March 2nd is the last day to vote early.   

 

Absentee Voting by Mail

 

Any registered voter may submit an application to receive an absentee ballot through the mail.  We will begin mailing ballots January 19th, 2024.  To request an Absentee Ballot by Mail apply online at https://vote.elections.virginia.gov.  You may also contact the General Registrar’s Office to request an application.   

 

February 23rd is the last day to request an Absentee Ballot by mail. 

 

A ballot drop box will be available for in-person and early voting.  Drop boxes will also be available at all regular polling places on Election Day, March 5th, from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

 

Election Day Voting

In-Person voting will continue to be available at all regular polling locations in Scott County on March 5th, 2024.  Precincts will open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m.  If you are in line at 7:00 p.m., you will be able to vote.  Do not get out of line if you are in line to vote at 7:00 p.m.
