The Democratic and Republican parties have each called for primaries for nominations for certain offices. 

Official notice is hereby provided.
Official notice of where primaries have been called.

If only one person files for a party's presidential primary, then that party's primary will be cancelled. If both parties have a primary on June 18, voters must choose which party's primary they wish to participate in. Voters may not vote in both primaries on June 18.

Early Voting and Dropbox Locations for June 2024, Primary


Early voting for the June 2024 primary will begin on May 3, 2024 at the Registrar's Office. A dropbox will also be available for ballots that have been mailed to voters. The locations, dates, and times for early voting and dropboxes are set out in the early voting notice for the June 18, 2024 primary.


Primary Election Calendar

    • Early Voting Begins: May 3, 2024
    • Final Day to Register to Vote/Change Voter registration Information: May 27, 2024 @ 5 PM
    • Final Day to Request a Ballot to be mailed: June 7, 2024 @ 5 PM
    • Final Day of Early Voting: June 15, 2024
    • Primary Election Day: June18, 2024


In-Person Early Voting


Location: 190 Beech St., Suite 204, Gate City, VA 24251

Starting 45 days before the election and ending on the Saturday before the election

Times: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and also the two Saturdays preceding the election


Mail Absentee Voting/Military and Overseas Voting


All mailed ballots should be mailed back to our office at:

190 Beech St, Suite 204, Gate City, VA 24251.

Identification


Virginia law requires all voters to provide an acceptable form of ID when voting in person. Voters arriving at the polls without an acceptable form of ID will be required to sign an ID Confirmation Statement.
