The Chairman reported Steel Fab is having a job fair in conjunction with the
Workforce Development Board.
The Chairman reported AT&T has been approved to hire 160 additional
employees.
The Chairman reported the IDA will apply for a USDA loan fund grant for
$70,000.00.
The IDA discussed the overcrowding problem with the DSS/Health
Department building. No action was taken at this time.

RESOLUTION OF THE RUSSELL COUNTY IDA, VIRGINIA,
IN SUPPORT OF THE USDA REVOLVING LOAN FUND GRANT
APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the Russell County IDA supports the efforts of local businesses, by utilizing
all available resources, to obtain a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Grant for
the 2018 fiscal year in the amount of $75,000; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to establish a revolving loan fund to encourage
economic growth within the county; and
WHEREAS, the Russell County IDA with the assistance from USDA will use this
program to stimulate the creation and retention of jobs within the county to continue the
diversification of the local economy; and
WHEREAS, the Russell County IDA with assistance from USDA will capitalize on the
skills and talents of our local residents and provide financial assistance to small businesses in an
effort to improve the longevity and success of local businesses; and
WHEREAS, the Russell County IDA will administer the loan program targeting
businesses within the county and new businesses that will be located in the county; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Russell County IDA is in full support
of obtaining USDA grant funding for the 2018 fiscal year and all endeavors related to future
economic development within the county.
ADOPTED this__26" day of _April 2018.
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
