The Regular monthly meeting of the Industrial Development Authority of Russell County, Virginia was held on October 13, 2016, beginning with a tour of Steel Fab at 5:30 P.M. and continuing at Bonanza Family Restaurant, Main Street, Lebanon, Virginia.

PRESENTATION OF SOLAR ENERGY
Mr. Well and Mr. Owens presented the economic and environmental impact of solar energy to the board. They discussed the possible impact of solar energy in this area.

The attorney report reflected Mr. Chafin reported 3B consulting is in default with the Tobacco Commission. This statement is revised to reflect Mr. Chafin reported 3B Consulting may be in default.

ATTORNEY’S REPORT The daycare center has been provided with the documentation on the land
grant to acquire financing.
The Attorney reported the IDA needs to sign a resolution to transfer the land
in the industrial park to the State Police.
Upon motion made by Roger sword, second by Mike Hincher and duly
approved by the Industrial Development Authority of Russell County, Virginia authorizing the signature of a resolution transfering the property in the Industrial Park to the State Police and the cost incurred of $4942.00 is to be paid by the IDA.

COMMITTEE REPORT Mr. McFaddin attended the grand opening of the Heritage Museum in Honaker, VA. Mr. McFaddin reported the event was well attended and is an asset to Russell County.
The Chairman reviewed the committee appointments and appointed a chairman to each committee.
OLD BUSINESS
The amendment for the Holiday Inn payment schedule to VCEDA has been approved. This amendment also has to be approved by VSBFA and CPPD.
The board tabled the lease for the animal shelter property.
NEW BUSINESS Russell County designated in VCEDA are $662,000.00. VCEDA board appointments have resulted in ten new members.
Mr. Eaton informed the board the Russell County Board of Supervisors is going to Allegany County to tour a meat packing facility.
