A regular monthly meeting of the Russell County Board of Supervisors was held on Monday, December

William Puckett, RCSD gave a brief presentation on the upgrade of radio equipment for the Sheriff’s department. He stated that the cost to upgrade and finish moving the E-911 Center would cost approximately $550,000. He added that they were on a strict timeline with the quotes for the upgrade and the Board needed to act as soon as possible.

The Chairperson appointed Steve Breeding and Tim Lovelace to a committee to study the radio equipment upgrade and the E-911 Center relocation expenses.

Eric Deskins, Lebanon commented that there has been some misinformation concerning the Second Amendment Resolution. He was interested in what the legal ramifications may be.

Nate Kiser, Russell County Republican Party Chair stated that the Second Amendment Sanctuary Resolution really has no legal standing. He encouraged everyone to register to vote, he also commented that this was only the beginning of the fight. He thanked the Board for their support.

Jim Lyttle, Chair of the Tourism Advisory Committee stated that he is very troubled by the tabling of the HOA appointments.
