A regular monthly meeting of the Russell County Board of Supervisors was held on Monday, September
10, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the Russell County Government Center in Lebanon, Virginia. The Board
convened at 2:45 pm in order to attend a VACO/VML meeting at the Russell County Conference Center.
The Clerk called the meeting to order.

Dr. Greg Brown, Superintendent Russell County Schools, gave a power point presentation on the RACE Program. This program gives high school seniors in the County the option of going to Southwest Virginia Community College for (2) two years free of charge.
APPROVAL TO ALLOCATE $75,000 TO THE RACE PROGRAM
Motion made by Steve Breeding, second David Eaton and duly approved by the Board of Supervisors to allocate a minimum of $75,000 from the school reversion funds to the RACE Program.

The Chair opened citizens comment period.
Sean Vance, 99 Willow Springs, Lebanon, stated that his road is not safe and a rescue squad cannot access his property in the winter. He feels like he is not getting anywhere with his road and is not looking for anything he doesn’t deserve.
Oris Christian, Lebanon commented that he had been coming to the Board meetings for years and is interested in county government. He would like to be the new supervisor-at-large.

The county has not maintained that schedule in recent years. She was told that the state would take over the road.
Dustin Keith, Lebanon announced that the Farm to Table Dinner has been rescheduled for September 29, 2018 at 6:00 pm.
