COMMENTS
2/5/19-Upon approval of application 1010465, the permittee breached a portion of the berm around Golden Pond and began allowing it to gravity drain into the Pond 2 series. A ditch was constructed, along with multiple small sumps to control the drainage.
2/20/19-I checked the drainage from the Pond 2 series and Golden Pond. The drainage from Golden Pond was discolored, but the Pond 2 series was, for the most part, handling it. The company was preparing to chemically treat the Golden Pond discharge in preparation for heavy rain that was predicted for the next couple of days.
2/21/19- I again checked the drainage from the Pond 2 Series and Golden Pond. The company had constructed additional sumps between Golden Pond and Pond 2 to ensure the Pond 2 discharge stayed in compliance.
Removal of material from Golden Pond has still not commenced. The company wants to allow the material to dry more, before removal begins.
